Course Description
This beginner-level course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of Carnatic music in a structured and systematic manner. At Svara Sethu Learning Center, we focus on building a strong foundation that supports long-term musical growth.
The course begins with basic note patterns such as SAPASA and gradually progresses through Saralavarase, Jantivarase, and Datuvarase. Students are then introduced to Alankaras, helping them understand rhythm and structure, followed by Tarasthayi and Mandrasthayi exercises to develop voice range and control. The course also includes simple Geethes, enabling students to apply their learning in musical compositions.
With a total duration of 10 months (including dedicated time for practice and theory), students receive consistent guidance through 80 structured online classes. The teaching approach ensures clarity, discipline, and confidence in every stage of learning.
This course is ideal for beginners who wish to start their musical journey with a strong base, proper technique, and a deep appreciation for classical music.
